The 850 square miles of North Devon offers some of BritainÂ’s best coast and countryside and is speckled with traditional fishing villages and sandy coves ready to explore, including the famous village of Clovelly with its steep cobbled street and quaint cottages.
Lynton and Lynmouth are ideal bases from which to explore the Porlock area as well as wild and rugged Exmoor with its numerous ponies and deer.
South Devon is most well known for its English Riviera Resorts such as Torquay or Paignton. For a more historic flavour try the port of Plymouth and visit the Barbican with its antique shops and cobbled streets. Exeter has a very attractive cathedral to enjoy or the more arty market town of Totnes might appeal with its bohemian atmosphere being very popular with visitors all year round.
For the more adventurous of walkers, there is the wild and breathtaking Dartmoor, and with endless country lanes and picturesque villages Devon is a fantastic county to tour around.
